Cassandra Atter is interested in discovering different qualities and textures in her paintings with various mediums and materials. She is exploring the variety of effects possible using various techniques to uncover their diverse capabilities. Cassandra wants to create tactile work and push the limits with what each medium can do. When creating work, she is influenced by the mediums and adapts based on its movements and properties. Using this methodology Cassandra is able to try new things and make new discoveries. The process is a very large component in her work, watching everything unfold and seeing how it all interacts is captivating and reveals inspiration for other works. Cassandra was introduced to new materials and processes and was amazed and intrigued, needing to immerse herself in this new world and explore as much as possible. She is working on expanding her knowledge of these materials and making many more discoveries along the way in her studies at OCAD University.
